pride 2024

a pride themed styled shoot at willowdale estate: topsfield, ma

I'm thrilled to share the exhilarating experience of participating in Sarah Lord's Pride-themed styled shoot, hosted by her and the incredibly talented team at Finishing Touch Events. This marks my second year participating in this annual styled event and once again, it was an absolute blast! Proceeds from this shoot were to benefit NAGLY North: the North Shore Alliance of GLBTQ+ Youth.

This year's shoot was a radiant celebration of love, diversity, and unity, showcasing an explosion of color and creativity. From the dazzling rainbow florals that brought a burst of vibrancy to the venue, to the meticulously designed tablescape that captured the essence of Pride, every detail was a testament to inclusivity and joy.

The tablescape transported me to the sun-kissed shores of Florida, exuding a fun and tropical vibe. The vibrant linens and playful place settings brought a sense of whimsy, while the florals, covering every color of the rainbow, elevated the space to a new level of brilliance. Every detail popped with color, from the napkins to the menus, creating a visual feast that perfectly embodied the spirit of Pride.

A special shoutout to the incredible teamwork of Renee & Amy for their show-stopping balloon-covered cookie trike. An enormous garland of rainbow balloons adorned the adorable cookie transportation tricycle, adding a playful and festive touch to the shoot. Their creativity and attention to detail truly made this element stand out, bringing even more joy and vibrancy to the event.

The flowers were a highlight of the shoot, adding vibrancy and fun to every corner. Our brides carried stunning bouquets, each bursting with colors that reflected the spirit of Pride. The tables were adorned with breathtaking centerpieces featuring a wide array of flowers, showcasing every shade of the spectrum.

Other delightful details included a champagne table where brightly colored popsicles were dipped into each glass, melting into a rainbow of flavor. Fun flat lays featuring vibrant shoes and bright details added a touch of whimsy to the scene. In front of the venue, a mobile treat and coffee bar provided delightful refreshments, complete with a cozy lounge area for guests to relax and enjoy.

Our first couple, Kayla & Jessie, were a real-life duo who have shared a beautiful life together for over 10 years with their children. Their love and connection were palpable as we staged a touching first look: Kayla emerged from the estate to tap her love on the shoulder for the big reveal, creating a moment filled with emotion and joy.

Next up were Amanda & Jess, both stunning in their gowns. We moved from one beautiful nook to another, capturing their vibrance and the genuine chemistry between them. Despite not being a couple in real life, their bubbly personalities brought an authentic and joyful energy to the shoot.

We also had the pleasure of photographing Mare and Monica, our engaged couple! With their wedding just a few weeks away, it was perfect timing to capture their love in engagement photos. The hidden gem of a boardwalk in the woods next to the venue provided a serene and intimate backdrop for these soon-to-be newlyweds.

Lastly, Shey, our solo bridal model, left us breathless with her elegance. She looked absolutely stunning in a sleek, elegant dress. Tucked away in one of the many picturesque nooks of Willowdale, Shey embodied grace and sophistication, making a lasting impression on everyone present.

There were so many other fun details and moments throughout this styled shoot. Renee's daughter wanted to partake and became a flower girl for a brief moment, even joining all the models for a toast at the table. Monica rode in on her motorcycle, allowing us to use it as a posing prop, adding a unique and bold touch to the shoot. There was a temporary tattoo station with pride themed tattoos. We ended the night just as we did last year, with all of the models partying in this fun bathroom. These intimate and joyful moments truly celebrated love and pride.

Although this is a styled shoot orchestrated by Sarah Lord, it is a true representation of my work as a photographer as well as the talent of each and every vendor involved. Full list of vendors and models below.
