baylee & ethan’s gloucester engagement session
When Baylee and Ethan reached out to me shortly after their engagement, they were brimming with excitement about their future wedding. However, they decided to take their time with the planning process, starting with a magical engagement session to celebrate their love. Having gotten engaged in sunny Costa Rica, they wanted their photos to reflect that same vibrant and joyful vibe. With their gentle giant, a Great Dane named Sky, we met at my favorite spot on the North Shore of Massachusetts – the breathtaking Wingaersheek Beach in Gloucester.
Capturing the Golden Glow in the Dunes
We began our session in the sun-kissed dunes, where the light was perfect for that dreamy, golden haze. Baylee and Ethan were naturals in front of the camera, effortlessly switching between classic, intimate poses and spontaneous, playful moments. Sky, their faithful companion, was right there with us, adding an extra touch of love and joy to every shot.
Fun and Games on the Rocks
Our next location was the rocky shoreline, where Baylee and Ethan embraced their adventurous spirits. They played a little game of "airplane" and reenacted the iconic "Jack & Rose" pose from Titanic, bringing a sense of motion and fun into the photos. Sky watched patiently, occasionally striking a pose of her own, as her parents' love shone brightly through every frame.
A Toast to Love
Before a quick outfit change, we paused for a special moment. Baylee and Ethan shared a private champagne toast in the dunes, celebrating their journey together. This intimate break allowed them to connect, laugh, and savor the beauty of their surroundings. The pop of champagne and the clinking of glasses added a festive touch to the session.
Casual Moments by the Shore
With a change into more casual outfits, we headed back to the shore for some lively and relaxed shots. Baylee and Ethan's playful energy was infectious as they ran along the beach, piggy-backed each other, and snuggled on the rocks. Their genuine affection for each other was evident in every candid moment we captured.
An Adventure to the Sandbar
As the tide receded, the sandbar emerged, creating an enchanting, private island-like setting. I suggested we venture out into the water, jeans and all, to seize this unique photo opportunity. Without hesitation, Baylee and Ethan agreed. Sky, towering above the shallow water, joined us on this little adventure. The photos we captured on the sandbar were nothing short of spectacular, with the setting sun casting a warm, golden glow over everything.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, we continued to capture the love and joy radiating from Baylee and Ethan. Sky had her chance to run free with her parents, creating more candid and heartwarming moments. We even tried to lure some seagulls for a fun shot with snacks, but Sky's size was a bit too intimidating for our feathered friends.
Baylee and Ethan's engagement session at Wingaersheek Beach was a perfect blend of romance, adventure, and joy. Their easygoing nature and deep connection made them feel like instant friends. I am truly excited about the prospect of photographing their wedding next summer, and I can't wait to capture more beautiful moments of their love story.
