Round 2 of the Motherhood event at Wingaersheek Beach

Back in early summer, Niko from Lily James Photography and I hosted a Motherhood event at Wingaersheek Beach, and it was such a success that we knew we had to do it again! This second round was just as special, and despite a few bumps in the road (pun intended), it turned out to be an amazing celebration of motherhood.

We had 7 incredible moms join us, including two who were expecting. The day didn’t go off without a few surprises—one of the pregnant mamas went into labor that morning! Others were dealing with sick little ones, and unfortunately, a few couldn’t make it. But with a few last-minute additions, we pulled together a beautiful, heartwarming session.

Sherry came with her third boy, and Annie joined us with her son and daughter. A fun fact we discovered: Sherry and Annie’s boys were born on the exact same day! Toni brought her daughter, and Meg came with her daughter and another baby girl on the way. Alyssa's joyful little girl lit up the session, and Gianna was there, glowing with her third daughter on the way. Becky completed our group with her two girls.

We kicked off the session with group shots, capturing the bond between these incredible moms. As the evening unfolded, we transitioned into individual photos, taking our time to capture each mother’s unique connection with her children. In true mom fashion, a few of the babies got hungry, so we took the opportunity to photograph the mothers nursing, which resulted in some truly beautiful and intimate images.

As the sun began to set, we moved down to the rocks and the shoreline, where the magic of golden hour lit up the beach. There was more nursing, seagull chasing, and plenty of splashing in the water. The entire session was a perfect reflection of the beautiful chaos that is motherhood—messy, spontaneous, and full of love.

Hosting this session again was such an honor, and I’m already looking forward to doing it next summer. It’s moments like these that make me so grateful to be able to capture the essence of motherhood in all its forms.
